Clara Graziolino
is an Italian sculptor creating ceramic wall sculptures and site-specific installations. She conceives the wall as a pictorial surface, using individually hand-modelled ceramic elements as brushstrokes to compose abstract compositions in space.
Her practice explores how repetition, accumulation and stratification can generate complexity. Each composition grows slowly, element by element, through a fully manual process in which accumulation becomes image and colour, light and matter become inseparable from the work itself. Rather than applying colour onto a surface, she builds the image physically, allowing it to emerge through relief, shadow and the subtle layering of glazes and patinas.
Originally trained in Contemporary History before specialising in ceramic sculpture, Clara Graziolino’s practice moves between painting, sculpture and architecture. Inspired by the spatial experience of Renaissance frescoes and the material possibilities of abstract painting, she uses ceramic to transform walls into compositions that evolve with changing light and the viewer’s movement.
Based between Turin and Madrid, she creates autonomous wall sculptures and site-specific installations for galleries, collectors and architectural spaces internationally.
